When extra disk is enough

Extra disk is enough when the limit is storage and the memory already fits. It adds disk space. It does not add memory.

The price

Extra disk is €0.10 per GB per month, with a 10 GB minimum, and it is paid for the whole term. Ten gigabytes for 12 months is €12.00 on top of the server. The plan page shows the amount for the term you choose. Shorter terms stay on that page. Backups are a different option. Add backups to a server covers that 20% charge, and it does not add disk.

When a larger plan is the right order

If the service needs more memory than the current plan has, extra disk will not fix that. When Cloud 1 GB is enough covers the smallest Cloud size, which is 1 GB of memory and 20 GB of disk. How to choose a larger Cloud server lists the next sizes. An upgrade stays in the region you already chose. It does not move the datacenter.

A mid-term invoice for extra disk does not by itself suspend the server. From the next renewal, the extra disk is a line on the server's own invoice. What is included with a server explains the invoice that does suspend the server.

Open Cloud 1 GB and read the extra-disk field before you add storage.
