Choose a hostname

The hostname can be left blank. The order then chooses one. If you enter one, use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. It cannot start or end with a hyphen, and it can be up to 63 characters.

What the hostname is not

The hostname is the name of the server. It is not the domain visitors type, and it is not a second address. Point a domain at a server is how a domain reaches the server's IPv4 address.

A later change

Changing only the hostname does not erase the disk and does not create a new root password. Choose an operating system covers a system change, which does erase the disk.

Open Cloud 1 GB and leave the hostname blank, or enter one that fits those characters, before you pay.
